Exercise your Mind

The Problems We Face

Maybe you go the gym casually; you're an elite athlete; or maybe you haven't started your exercise journey yet. Despite your level, we can all experience anxiety, stress and burnout. These problems we run can get in the way of us achieving our fitness and professional goals.
Perhaps you are:
  • Procrastinating
  • Doubting yourself
  • Lacking confidence
  • Unsure of your abilities

  • Not achieving your goals
  • Feeling unsatisfied
  • Nervous about starting
  • Taking the easy route
Like any other muscle in the body, the mind needs exercise and training to operate at a high level.  Our ability to use our mind effectively is proportional to the amount of time we spend training it. This is why it might look easier for some people, and more difficult for others.

What are your Goals?

Once we take back control of how we think, we tend to see greater movement toward our goals.
You might find that you can:
  • Exercise more often
  • Exercise longer
  • See the changes you want
  • Enjoy the process!

  • Feel more satisfied
  • Feel motivated and energetic

The Solution

No matter what stage you're at in your fitness journey, there are only a couple of ways to 'do' procrastination, or 'do' low confidence, or 'do' low satisfaction, etc.
To 'do' these things, we might:
  • Focus on emotion
  • Spend too much time in our heads
  • Ask ourselves 'what if...'
  • Try to control for everything

  • Avoid problems
  • Set unrealistic expectations
  • Think the world needs to be different
To 'do' something implies a process - a set of steps we take to make a decision or act in a certain way. We can train our minds to stop running these processes, and instead 'do' confidence, or 'do' motivation, etc. There are a number of techniques you can learn to help you practice this.

Peak Performance Hypnosis

At Stirling Hypnotherapy, we use hypnosis to your enhance your ability to effectively apply cognitive processes.

When in trance, you are more receptive to suggestion, and your thoughts are more moldable. This allows for changes to occur much faster than in normal talk therapy.

During our sessions together, we will work on identifying how your thoughts are contributing to your performance on the field, in the gym or on the court. We will also build on your ability to think effectively.
